Dr DeFilippisNicholas DeFilippis, M.D. is a Board Certified Physician in Internal Medicine.  He graduated from Rutgers College of Pharmacy with Highest Honors in 1981.  He was inducted into the Rho Chi Honor Society.  He then graduated from UMDNJ – Rutgers Medical School in 1985.  He was inducted into AOA, the medical honor society, the highest honor from medical school.  He then completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at UMDNJ – Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital from 1985 until 1988.  He served as Chief Medical Resident in Internal Medicine from July 1988 until June 1989 and as a junior faculty member at UMDNJ-RWJMS.  He became Board Certified in Internal Medicine in September 1988.  He is a member of The American Medical Society.

Dr. DeFilippis has been in private practice since his residency at  Union Internal Medicine Group, 2027 Morris Ave.,Union, N .J. He is a certified Nursing Home Medical Director. He has active medical privilegesl at Manor Care Nursing Home in Mountainside, NJ.

He is an Attending Physician at Overlook Hospital in Summit, NJ and St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, NJ.

Dr. DeFilippis specializes in the practice of Internal Medicine and treats all aspects of General Internal Medicine, including Geriatrics and Preventive Medicine.  As part of his affiliation with Manor Care Nursing Home, he also specializes in subacute medical care post hospitalization.

Dr. DeFilippis speaks English, Italian, as well as some Spanish.

fernandezJacqueline Fernandez, M.D. is  a Board Certified Physician in Internal Medicine.  She graduated from New York University in 1985.  She then graduated from Hahnemann University Medical School in 1991.  She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Overlook Hospital, an affiliate of Columbia University from 1991 – 1994.  She became Board Certified in Internal Medicine in 1994.  She is a member of the American Medical Society.

Dr. Fernandez has been in private practice in Union, NJ since 1994.  She also was a teaching attending at Overlook Hospital and Union Hospital.  She is the Medical Director for Senior Spirit in Roselle, NJ.  Dr. Fernandez  is the Medical Director for the Humanitarian Outreach Program for Central and South America. She travels  several times a year to these countries volunteering her services to those who would otherwise not have access to medical care.

She is an Attending Physician at Overlook Hospital in Summit, N.J. and St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, N.J..
